I know a lot of people want
to know something about the breeder that you're buying your precious babies from, which in turn created
this page.
My birth name
is Menaughn, my nickname is Sunshine or Sunny for short. I
prefer to be called Sunshine or Sunny. But, you can call me by
whichever name you are most comfortable with.
I am a "home hobby breeder" of
Chihuahuas. Which means I only have 1 litter per year.
I try to only sell my puppies from home.
However, when I get to many people trying to back out of puppies or begging to
pay less than what I ask for, I get fed up and sell through a pet shop in
Mobridge.
When I ask for a flat $450.00 for a puppy, I expect the $450.00.
I will no longer give refunds on puppy deposits. And I will only speak with
genuinely interested buyers.
I ask for the amount that I do because my whole family puts a lot of work
into each litter of puppies.
I deliver every puppy my female has, I am the first human contact directly from
the mom's womb, I open each sack the puppy comes out in. I weigh them
immediately, and then give them to mom to feed.
Delivering puppies is a messy affair!
My boyfriend, my daughter, and I clean the kennel they sleep and eat in up to 6x
daily (we believe in keeping the sleeping area extremely clean). Joe bathes them
once every 2 weeks.
I deworm them at 3,4,and 5 days old. And again at 4 weeks, 8 weeks then once a
month.
I remove dewclaws by myself, weigh the puppies weekly. I have bottle fed 2
runts, and was up and down with them all night for feedings.
When the puppies are old enuf to walk then both my children and my 2 nieces
start playing with them. They get carried around a lot, and are given a lot of
love! My daughter teaches almost every puppy how to play fetch.
I also start potty training the puppies individually when they start walking.
When the puppies leave my home they are potty trained to use a pad. If the puppy
for some reason stops using a pad, then it is something that you, as the owner,
are doing wrong. A owner needs to keep up on making the puppy use the pad!
I am a mother of 3, and
a soul-mate to 1 and owned by 3 Chihuahua's and 1 cat.
I don't work because I
am disabled. I do make websites sometimes (and doing that depends on how much
pain my hands are in), I also make beaded cell phone charms, necklaces,
bracelets, anklets and earrings.
Making those also depends on my hands. If you wish to take a look at those I
will be putting up a page to sell them at a later date.
My days are mostly spent reading, and playing with my kids and my Chi's.
I have 2 beautiful twin
girls, Enya & Scyra who are 11 years old. My son Ashur is 10.
Scyra lives away from home because her disability is too severe, but she
comes home as often as possible to visit. Scyra loves to garden, play with cats
and dogs,
swim, draw and play with her friends.
Enya likes dogs, cats, listening to music, drawing,
& playing her guitar
(she just strums as of
right now because we do not have a local teacher, so if anyone knows where I can
find teaching videos for guitar PLEASE let me know!).
Ashur has Autism, which makes life quite interesting! His current favorite thing
is Star-Wars, so we are learning a lot about the movies! Ashur loves to draw and
make things out of whatever he can find, he also enjoys models, and star-wars
transfomers. His favorite animal are cats because of their quiet, gentle, and
loving nature.
I am
grateful to share my life with my boyfriend Joe. We have been together for over
7 years. If the Lady ever gave too much
patience to someone it would have to be him. He is very kind, and patient. He is
shy by nature but once you get to know him you realize he can talk your ear off!
Joe enjoys games, taking walks, watching sci/fi & fantasy movies, action &
adventure movies, mystery movies, horror movies and a touch of drama. We have a
bond that most people can't understand because we are so very different from
each other, but this bond also takes us beyond the normal closeness that
most couples shares. When I think about him, he somehow always seems to know
because he pops his head around the corner and asks "did you say something?"
Joe enjoys the company of many different types of animals, I think if it were up
to him we would have a zoo!
I cannot express in
words how much I enjoy the company of my Chihuahuas! They are the best
companion animals I have ever had the wonderful opportunity to have in my life.
I recommend them to anyone who is recommended a therapeutic pet! They are also
wonderful for the elderly and apartment dwellers.
I would never trade my Chihuahuas
for any other breed of dog! My little
darlings, live in home with us. They are very socialized. I s'pose as well as
socialized as they can be. My dogs are not the yappers most people imagine. They
only bark at people they've not met, or don't trust, and strange cars they don't know who
are almost 1/2 a block away.
They have several cats for playmates as
well as several larger sized dogs. My nieces and my kids play with them a lot, so they are used to
children from ages 3 and up. They are also handled frequently by any visitors to
my home.
